Thomas G. Malone

President and Chief Executive Officer

Tom is the founder of three previous ventures, the last two launching breakthrough technologies to the packaging industry. With over 30 years of entrepreneurial management experience, Tom provides a fresh business perspective as a skilled growth strategist offering tactical skills in intellectual property management, product development, sales and marketing. Tom is the inventor of 7 Patents and developed 4 trademarks. He has been a member of the Institute of Packaging Professionals since 1998 and won the 2002 Highest Achievement Award, the Gold Award Winner in Environmental Achievement and the Gold Award Winner in Technical Innovation from the Flexible Packaging Association in 2002. Tom was also presented with the 2001 R & D 100 Award, R & D Magazine. Tom earned an MBA from Pepperdine University, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara.

Krishna V. Nadella, Ph.D.

Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer

Krishna was recently awarded his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Washington with a research specialty in microcellular plastics, thus advancing MicroGREEN’s technology. He has developed 20 patentable technologies during his graduate research at UW, and as head of development at MicroGREEN. Krishna plays a crucial role in furthering development of Ad-air® technology, and working with partners to develop application-specific solutions. He has played a key role in developing and representing MicroGREEN’s business to date, and effectively communicating the technology to partners.

R. Michael Crill

Chief Financial Officer

Mike is the Managing Director for Atlas Accelerator and has served as a part-time CFO for over 90 companies to include RVM Scientific (sold to Agilent), Uniax (sold to Dupont), and the Coffee Equipment Company (sold to Starbucks). He manages a financial analyst from Atlas who is supporting the Company. Mike holds a BS (magna cum laude) from Syracuse University with majors in finance, industrial relations, and business law and a minor in military science and an MBA (summa cum laude, valedictorian) from Duke.

Jake Cahill

Director of Business Development

Jake graduated with a BA from Middlebury College in 1979 and immediately began working for J. D. Cahill Co., Inc., a family business supplying extrusion coated and film laminated paperboard to the folding carton industry. From 1989 until 2003, Jake served as President of the company. During that time he also served as a Division Board Member of The American Forest and Paper Association. Cahill Company was sold to Graphic Packaging International in 2003, and Jake became an independent consultant specializing in packaging design and applications. Jake recently joined the MicroGREEN management team to help develop new markets and promote sales of Ad-air® in the packaging industry.

Doug Leland

Director of Business Development

Doug Leland joins MicroGREEN Polymers from Harbor Sales and Management Consulting, which he founded in 2008 under the basic principal that customers' needs must be totally understood before benefits to all parties can be achieved.  With over 35 years experience in top management positions with highly-esteemed packaging firms, including Willamette Industries and Weyerhaeuser, Doug has developed, managed and grown businesses with a high degree of integrity and success.   Doug received his BS in Business from the University of Washington, completed Stanford University's Executive Program, and served on Portland State University's Food Management Board.

Chris Jacobs

Director of Business Development

Chris joins Microgreen with 14 years of marketing and business development experience.  He received his MBA from Cornell in 1996, prior to which he worked with National Cement and Ceramics laboratory to develop products for the Earthshell brand.  His CPG marketing and product development experience with Unilever and Johnson Outdoors adds yet another dimension, and strengthens our business development team.  Chris is personally driven to work at the confluence of environmentally responsible and fiscally successful business.  His passion, energy and experience fit well with MicroGREEN, and he is currently focusing on the CPG industry and working with the team to drive the acceptance of our technology in this arena.

Barbara Burke

Operations Director

Barbara received her Bachelor of Science degree in Metallurgical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin – Madison and her Master of Medical Engineering degree from the University of Washington – Seattle. She is a lifetime member of Tau Beta Pi. Barbara brings to MicroGREEN Polymers over 20 years of technical and management experience, particularly as a start-up entrepreneur of a high technology medical research company.

Xiaoxi Wang, Ph.D.

Senior Scientist

Xiaoxi brings additional depth of technical creativity and expertise to the MicroGREEN development team.  Xiaoxi received his MS in Materials Science and Engineering from Huazhong University of Science and Technology in 2002, and PhD in Mechanical Engineering from  University of Washington in 2007. With over 7 years of experience on microcellular plastics, he has 17 academic publications, and 8 patent and invention disclosures. His research is focused on foaming of semi-crystalline and biodegradable polymers, mechanical and electrical properties of foams and creating interconnected porous structures in close-celled foams using ultrasound.

Dawn Solvberg

Controller

Dawn brings over twelve years of accounting and finance experience.  Dawn is a licensed CPA who has spent the last seven years in the real estate development industry where she was the VP of Finance for a large Snohomish County developer.  She also held the position of CFO for a start-up consulting company.  Her experience includes more than five years in public accounting for Moss Adams, the region's largest accounting firm.  She earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Busi­ness Administration with an emphasis in Account­ing from Washington State University and is a member of the Washington Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Thermoforming Engineering Manager

Steve comes to the Company with over 20 years of experience in thermoforming, in areas such as product development, project management, and process engineering.  Steve received his experience working for companies such as Solo Cup Company, Berry Plastics, Placon Corp., Dart Container, Fabri-Kal Corp., and Amoco Foam Products Company.  Steve earned his Bachelor of Science, Industrial Technology degree from University of Wisconsin-Stout, Menomonie, Wisconsin.

John Lu

Technology Leader

John provides many years of research and development experience in the field of microcellular plastics.  He earned his BS and MS in mechanical engineering from the University of Washington.  During his time there, he focused on solid-state foaming of thin materials and completed his master's thesis titled "Processing and Characterization of Thermoplastic Microcellular Thin Films".  John has experience working in fast paced, small businesses, making him ideal for the demands of MicroGREEN Polymers Inc.

Dawn Taylor

Sales and Customer Relations Specialist

Dawn brings over 25 years of experience working in professional sales, sales administration, contract management and marketing.  She has worked with a variety of companies - from young start-up companies, such as Sonicare® toothbrush, to large corporate organizations, such as Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc.  Dawn has also been a business owner for over a decade and is a licensed real estate salesperson in the State of Washington.
